Piano Lessons for children

The Suzuki programme at my studio is designed to be an immersive experience for your child and family. All the programme units listed below and the Suzuki Parent Introductory Course are offered as a complete programme for registered students. Lessons are conducted in both Norwegian and English.

Private Individual Lessons

Weekly individual lessons can be 30 minutes or 45 minutes in duration, depending on your child's age and piano level.

Group Lessons

Weekly group lessons last for 30 minutes and offers a combination of Music Mind Games, Suzuki repertoire play-togethers, and Piano Ensemble opportunities.

Masterclasses & Workshops

Masterclasses and workshops form an integral part of the Suzuki programme. Guest teachers are invited to give masterclasses.  External workshops provide opportunities to perform together with other Suzuki instrument ensemble groups.

Having a common Suzuki repertoire means that students can participate in Suzuki workshops and conferences anywhere around the world.

Concerts

There are concert rehearsals and performances at the end of each semester, as well as Book Graduation concerts, along with an After Concert Party social.

Suzuki Parent Introductory Course

This is an introductory course designed for all prospective Suzuki parents of my studio. If you are interested in the Suzuki Method, this 6-hour course is the perfect opportunity to learn about its philosophy, teaching principles, and how you can help your child succeed in this endeavour. This mandatory course runs over a period of five weeks and is taken before your child starts lessons.

Observation sessions together with your child form part of the Introductory Course for Suzuki Parents.

The Suzuki Parent Introductory Course is open to the general public and can be taken as a standalone course. It costs 4.000 kr per family. You can find out more about this course and sign up here.

Observation Session

If you would like to get an idea of how Suzuki piano lessons are conducted, please contact the studio to arrange for a free observation session together with your child. It is recommended that you set aside at least 1.5 hours for this session. The purpose of the lesson observation is for you to see what I expect, what I’m like and for me to assess student readiness for my program.

If you wish to enroll your child for piano lessons at Oslo Suzuki Piano, the online enrollment registration link will be sent to you after your observation session.
